Streamline Certification Team

Brief Description
They cut layers of red tape as they reinvented the Federal Housing Administration's (FHA) method of processing insurance premium refunds to homeowners. A new, highly automated, software driven streamlined certification process was developed.. From the homeowner's perspective, what used to be a 120-180 day ordeal now takes 14 days or less, along with reduction or elimination of the administrative burden of proof on their part. Almost $1 billion in refunds has been automatically processed back into the hands of homeowners for their use, and up to 6 months earlier than before. Staff savings from this new process have already exceeded $2.4 million, allowing Administration to function more efficiently with fewer people.
