A Message from Secretary Martinez On the Six Month Anniversary of the Terrorist Attacks on America

It has been six months since terrorists attacked the United States and the core of America - freedom. The threat of terrorism remains, but our resolve only grows stronger. President Bush has reassured the American people that we will win this war, and I am convinced that through his leadership our nation, and freedom, will prevail.

Our government responded with speed and compassion to help the families and survivors of the September 11th tragedies. I am proud of what HUD employees - many who themselves lost friends and loved ones in the terrorist attacks - have contributed.

Today, thousands of brave Americans are fighting in foreign lands to protect our nation and preserve our freedoms. We must keep them - and the families of those who were casualties in the war and the attacks on our nation - in our prayers. May God bless each and every American.
