Everyone has opinions about their job, but very few people have the chance to tell their employer - in complete confidence - what they like and don't like about the organization. And if they can share their opinions, they don't know if "management" will take their opinions seriously. That's why HUD's Workplace Satisfaction survey is a unique opportunity: every HUD employee in every office in the nation can make his and her opinions known, in confidence - and know that the results will be used to save the things we like about HUD and change the things we don't.

The survey is being conducted for HUD by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Since it is designed to measure employee satisfaction, giving your honest opinions is important. The easiest way to participate is through the Internet on OPM's secure web site - HUD employees can find a direct link to the survey, as well as a login name and password, on the main page of HUD@Work, HUD's internal intranet.
Once you have your login name and password, you can take the survey from any computer - in the office or at home, during the day, after work or even over the weekend (please note: while you can take the survey from any computer, you cannot access HUD's internal intranet from a computer that is not connected to HUD's network). If you prefer, you can print or request a paper copy of the survey to complete and mail to OPM. However you participate, your answers are completely confidential - but you only have until March 29th to complete the survey.
The survey has about 140 multiple choice questions and can be completed in 20 to 30 minutes. You can stop and save your results and continue or finish at a later time. The opinions expressed in the survey will be taken seriously, and the Department will not receive information that can identify you personally at any time. Your participation is entirely voluntary, but expressing your opinions - for better or worse - will help the Department improve every employee's satisfaction with their HUD workplace.
Secretary Martinez and Deputy Secretary Jackson believe that employee satisfaction is critical if we want to give our best service to the American people, and they strongly encourage you to take part in the survey. Ultimately, summaries of the Workplace Satisfaction survey results will be available to all employees - but if you don't participate now, you'll never know the difference your opinions could make.
