LAST CHANCE - HUD Workplace Satisfaction Survey Extended One Final Week

Tuesday, April 02, 2002

Because many HUD employees in Headquarters and field offices took time off last week to observe religious and traditional Springtime holidays, HUD's Organizational Assessment Survey (OAS) of workplace satisfaction has been extended for one last week, through Friday, April 5th.

A significant number of HUD employees began the confidential survey but didn't finish it. Many simply need to return, complete the final item, and submit their survey. It is important to know where improvements must be made and/or where things are working well, but nothing about this or any other item can personally identify people taking the survey.

If you've started and saved your survey, please return and complete it. If you did not save your earlier results - or even if you didn't find time to take the survey earlier - please logon and start from the beginning. Please complete the full survey, including the final section using the "tree" or drop down menu to select your Headquarters or field office.

Secretary Martinez and Deputy Secretary Jackson believe employee satisfaction is critical if we want to give our best service to the American people, and strongly encourage every HUD employee to take part in this confidential survey. That's why HUD's Workplace Satisfaction survey is a unique opportunity: every HUD employee in every office in the nation can express his and her opinions - and know that the results will be used to save the things we like about HUD and change the things we don't. But to make their opinions count, HUD staff must complete the survey by Friday, April 5th.

HUD employees can find a direct link to the survey, as well as a logon name and password, on the main page of HUD@Work, HUD's internal Intranet. Once you have your logon name and password, you can take the survey from any computer at any time - in the office, at home, at a local library or any other public community or computer center (please note: while you can take the survey from any computer, you cannot access HUD's internal Intranet from a computer that is not connected to HUD's network). The survey has about 140 multiple-choice questions and can be fully completed in 20 to 30 minutes.

This is your workplace, and the workplace satisfaction survey truly is a unique opportunity. The opinions expressed in the survey will be taken seriously, and the Department will not receive information that can identify you personally at any time. But by expressing your opinions - for better or worse - you will help the Department improve employee satisfaction for everyone. Please take or complete the HUD OAS by Friday, April 5th.
