HUD's Multifamily Housing Program Centers of the Southwest takes HUD's commitment to "value added" seriously. They recently unveiled a new and dramatically improved website that gives their multifamily customers a local connection.

In Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, local governments, property managers, lenders, nonprofits, tenants and others interested in HUD multifamily information now have access to local information about HUD funds, programs and assistance. In addition, localized information will help citizens and taxpayers see how HUD is working to help turn federal funds and assistance into housing success stories and new or expanded local business opportunities. Visitors can quickly and easily select local multifamily housing information by topic (what), by audience group (who), or by state (where).
This new and improved content will supplement the broad-based content currently available on HUD's national web pages. Now, local multifamily program and property information, housing success stories and training information take HUD service to the cities, partners and multifamily customers to a new, higher level in the four-state area served by the Region VI Multifamily Housing Hub.
HUD's Region VI Web Manager, Barbara Bates, guided efforts to develop this localized multifamily website, and she is discussing the idea of a more localized site for Region VI's other program areas, including Public and Indian Housing, Community Planning and Development, and Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. The Region VI Multifamily Hub staff responsible for the actual development of the website were Robert Hicks, Operations Director for the Region VI Multifamily Hub, and Warner Endsley, Senior Project Manager and Web Coordinator for the Region VI Multifamily Hub.
