Back Home in Indiana during Homeownership Month

Homeownership Month in Indiana had activities in the major and small towns of Indiana. Lt. Gov. Becky Spellman toured the state to promote Homeownership Month and Administration plans to strengthen the Housing Trust Fund, etc. The Lt. Gov. issued a proclamation supporting Homeownership Month and visited Indianapolis, Columbus, Fort Wayne, Hammond, Logansport, Terre Haute, and other communities.

Indianapolis HUD staff joined the Lt. Gov. at some of her events, and participated in other events in the State. Field Office Director John Hall and his staff joined partners in Terre Haute, Gary, Hammond, Lafayette, West Lafayette, Elkhart, Mishawaka, and Shelbyville to recognize Homeownership Month. A few of the events included a ground breaking for affordable homes in Mishawaka, demolition of dilapidated property to clear site for new construction of single family homes in Elkhart, opening an affordable decorator home show in Lafayette, another event in Lafayette was a home blessing at a Habitat for Humanity site, recognizing a family who is maintaining their home and improving the neighborhood in Terre Haute, etc.
