Using a theme of "bringing home to you," MyCommunityRents.com connects renters with an unlimited listing of the most updated properties available in Chattanooga and surrounding areas. With a simple click of the mouse, landlords also have the opportunity to post an unlimited number of properties on this centralized online resource - free of charge.
"Nearly a year ago, CHA was charged with helping locate emergency housing for Hurricane Katrina survivors who found themselves in our city," said Bill Lord, the housing authority's program compliance officer. "We, in turn, found ourselves in a precarious situation as these families needed immediate housing assistance."
"MyCommunityRents.com blossomed out of our efforts to help those families displaced by Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent floods of the Gulf Coast," Mr. Lord said. "Soon, any current or prospective renter(s) can surf our new website to easily locate housing options that fit their budgets. We expect the site to be fully functional by the end of the month." Bill Lord also noted how "you'll be able to search down to specific incomes, to find out if it is affordable, and does it meet the 30% criteria. There's an affordability calculator built-in so if you're not sure you can find out, you'll be able to search by school district."
Mr. Lord said that MyCommunityRents.com features a list of available rental properties for Chattanooga, East Tennessee, North Georgia, and Northern Alabama.
