In recognition of its local veterans, the Grand Rapids Field office hosted a special celebration in conjunction with the Department's event broadcast via satellite on Thursday, November 9th.

Here our Veterans share a moment in the spotlight together.

The Veterans Day Recognition Celebration began with all employees, including two employees of the Department of Labor that also work alongside HUD staff by gathering together in the 3rd floor conference room to view the Veteran's Day Message from Deputy Secretary Bernardi along with other HUD staff presentations in honor of those who have served and continue to serve our country each and every day.

Upon completion of the broadcast, Louis M. Berra, Field Office Director called upon the veterans in the room to stand up and be recognized for their contributions. Each veteran present provided a brief synopsis of how they spent their time in the military and the impact that it had on their lives. As those who spoke in the headquarter presentation, all felt glad to serve their country and took pride in being part of preserving the freedom we Americans all enjoy. A round of applause broke out among the rest of the staff present as each veteran was presented with a commemorative pin.

Please let us recognize and acknowledge those veterans as named below throughout the Department so that all might be aware of the sacrifices that were made by local field office personnel here in West Michigan.
