Congressman Zach Wamp, Chattanooga Housing Authority (CHA) Executive Director Bob Dull, Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield and CHA Chairperson Connie O'Neal hold on to a $700,000 mock check on behalf of the agency's YouthBuild program. The check was presented to CHA by HUD Atlanta Regional Director Bob Young. HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson recently announced some $45.5 million in YouthBuild grant awards earlier this month. The job-readiness program targets at-risk youth ages 16-24. YouthBuild participants work toward their GED while learning construction skills and receiving real-work experience. The participants also earn a stipend.
