"Getting to Know You!" may have been the subtext for the Pittsburgh Field Office's Congressional Briefing held on April 24, 2007. Beginning with Coffee and Conversation, the Field Office divisions had a personal and informative morning with representatives from Senators Specter and Casey as well as six of its eight congressional districts.

Using HUD's Mission as a focal point, the event provided an opportunity to highlight HUD's Programs using a unifying theme among all Divisions.

Each Division provided an overview using a PowerPoint presentation and highlighted areas of emphasis including fair housing and home ownership. The event also provided the opportunity for a liberal exchange with the congressional staff visitors. Also adding to the information exchange were the Chief Counsel, the Investigator General's Office and Administrative Resources. An ambiance of shared problem solving and information gathering was evident.

As the briefing closed, representatives were offered access to a resource table where each program area had displayed a myriad of engaging pamphlets, brochures and directories. Both the "Contracting with HUD" and "Annual Funding Report" drew praise from the representatives present. "This is great" and "You should do this every year" were two of the comments hear most often.
