Region IV PHAs take part in October 2021 Preventive Maintenance training

Last October Du and Associates conducted a preventative maintenance training for Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) within the Southeast Network under a technical assistance contract for substandard and near substandard PHAs in Alabama. HUD Employees and the public can now view this training on HUD Exchange (www.hudexchange.info/trainings/courses/pha-implementation-of-a-successful-preventative-maintenance-plan/). This is an example of effectively and efficiently utilizing HUD resources to improve PHA's performance to meet HUD's priority goals. Debra Bean, Division Director, and Courtney Johnson, Program Analyst, were vital to the Birmingham Field Office's successful training.

Preventive maintenance planning is an intentional program of inspections, routine upkeep, and capital projects to reduce the frequency and severity of breakdowns. In addition, these inspections preserve the asset's value and provide a quality housing experience for residents.

Du & Associates, Inc. is a minority woman-owned professional consulting firm that provides asset management, contract administration, underwriting, financial, and other services for the affordable housing industry.
