BIRMINGHAM - The Birmingham Field Office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development received
notice from the Atlanta Single Family Homeownership Center that FHA mortgage limits for the Birmingham Hoover MSA will be raised. The increase will be effective for all counties in the Birmingham Hoover MSA, which are Shelby, Bibb, Blount, Walker, Chilton, Jefferson and St. Clair. The new limits are as follows:

Unit Size
Current Limit

One family
$172,632
$185,100
Two family
$220,992
No Change

No Change
Four family
$331,968

Birmingham Field Office Director, Cindy Yarbrough, noted that, "We are very pleased to announce this increase in
the FHA mortgage limits for the Birmingham Hoover MSA. With the rising cost of housing the previous FHA
mortgage limit made it difficult to use the FHA mortgage program in some of our communities in this area."
