BIRMINGHAM FIELD OFFICE ANNOUNCES FHA MORTGAGE LIMIT INCREASE FOR BIRMINGHAM - HOOVER MSA

BIRMINGHAM - The Birmingham Field Office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development received
notice from the Atlanta Single Family Homeownership Center that FHA mortgage limits for the Birmingham - Hoover MSA will be raised. The increase will be effective for all counties in the Birmingham - Hoover MSA, which are Shelby, Bibb, Blount, Walker, Chilton, Jefferson and St. Clair. The new limits are as follows:

Unit Size
Current Limit
New Limit
One family
$172,632
$185,100
Two family
$220,992
No Change
Three family

No Change
Four family
$331,968

Birmingham Field Office Director, Cindy Yarbrough, noted that, "We are very pleased to announce this increase in
the FHA mortgage limits for the Birmingham - Hoover MSA. With the rising cost of housing the previous FHA
mortgage limit made it difficult to use the FHA mortgage program in some of our communities in this area."
