Meet the New Phoenix Field Office Director - Stephanie Smelnick

Congratulations to Stephanie Smelnick who was selected as the new HUD Phoenix Field Office Director (FOD). She officially stepped into her new role on April 6.

Ms. Smelnick has been with HUD Region IX for 25 years working in a number of leadership positions in the Phoenix Office in Single Family and Multifamily programs. Most recently, she was the Multifamily Program Center Director in the Phoenix Field Office.

Ms. Smelnick's past experience and management training have prepared her well for the Phoenix Field Office Director position. It encompasses the entire State of Arizona.

Region IX extends sincere thanks to Tony Ramirez, Reno Field Office Director, for serving the role of the Acting Phoenix Field Office Director for more than a year. He and Ms. Smelnick will be working together over the next several weeks to ensure a smooth transition.

Ms. Smelnick will be the senior management official for the nearly 100 field office staff that ensures HUD's current and prospective customers receives access to the full range of HUD services.

Ms. Smelnick expects to continue and expand upon HUD's emphasis on fostering and developing public and private partnerships.
