HUD SECRETARY DONOVAN TO JOIN GOVENOR HICKENLOOPER, SENATOR UDALL AND SENATOR BENNET TO ANNOUNCE 2ND ROUND OF DISASTER RECOVERY FUNDING

DENVER - Secretary of U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Shaun Donovan will join Gov. Hickenlooper and U.S. Senators Udall and Bennet in Denver, CO on Friday, March 14th, to announce a second round of HUD disaster recovery funds to the State of Colorado. The event will take place Friday morning at 10:15 AM MT on the West Steps of the State Capitol Building. The funding will help the hardest hit communities recover from the severe September 2013 storms that produced devastating floods.

In the initial allocation of funding in December 2013, HUD awarded Colorado $62.8 million in Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR). Boulder, Weld, and Larimer counties, three of the hardest hit areas in the state, will receive 80% of those funds. During that visit, Secretary Donovan joined Gov. Hickenlooper and Senators Udall and Bennet to tour recovery efforts in Lyons and Evans, Colorado.
