DOMINIQUE JACKSON SWORN IN AS REGIONAL ADMINISTRATOR FOR HUD'S ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION
Jackson will lead HUD Region 8 states of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming
DENVER - Dominique Jackson was sworn in to serve as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Regional Administrator, serving the six states in HUD's Rocky Mountain Region which includes the States of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. She is one of ten HUD Regional Administrators appointed by the Biden Administration throughout the United States.
"We are so pleased to have someone with such an accomplished track record fighting for renter's rights, environmental justice, and providing a voice for underserved communities join the Region VIII HUD team," said Michele Perez, Assistant Deputy Secretary of HUD's Office of Field Policy and Management. "Ms. Jackson's background and experience in helping both rural and urban communities will be an invaluable asset to HUD's Rocky Mountain Region."
As the Regional Administrator, Ms. Jackson will serve as HUD's liaison to mayors, city managers, state and local officials, members of Congress, private and non-profit developers, stakeholders and customers.
"I am honored to join this community of housing and development experts," said Ms. Jackson. "I firmly believe that housing is a human right, and I will work hard to stand beside our regional partners to provide equitable, healthy and sustainable solutions to help all of our neighbors."
Prior to her appointment at HUD, Ms. Jackson was a member of the Colorado House of Representatives, representing District 42, which covers a portion of Arapahoe County. She was elected to her seat in 2016, and served on the House Health, Insurance, & Environment Committee and the House Transportation & Energy Committee. Ms. Jackson is an Aurora resident and an alumna of the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Prior to taking office, she worked as a communications consultant and served on Aurora's Citizens Advisory Committee for Housing and Community Development.
