Environmental Training Conducted

On May 10, 2012, Hartford Field Office Environmental Officer (FEO) Beth Held collaborated with Boston Regional Office FEO Martha Curran in conducting a one-day training workshop at the HUD Hartford Field Office. The training targeted HUD's Part 58 Environmental Review Procedures for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement community staff, state CDBG Small Cities community staff and all other grant recipients responsible for performing environmental reviews for projects funded through HUD's programs.

HUD's environmental review process was discussed at length, including topics on compliance with Executive Orders and the National Historic Preservation Act. It was the second workshop in a series of environmental training opportunities being offered this spring/summer in the New England Region to all HUD grantees. Twenty-five grantees and seven Hartford Field Office staff attended the May 10th session. Visit Region I's environmental website for additional training opportunities and environmental guidance.
