A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on January 4, 2017, for Legion Court, a new housing development for veterans and families facing homelessness. Located in the South End of Hartford, the former vacant parcel of land was developed into twelve newly constructed townhouse apartments.

HUD has committed up to $101,640 per year to Legion Court with seven rental assistance certificates (formerly known as Shelter Plus Care) funded through the Continuum of Care (https://www.hudexchange.info/programs/coc/) program. Additional funding includes five Rental Assistance Program vouchers by the State of Connecticut Department of Housing. The Chrysallis Center, Inc. will provide supportive case management for each family.

Last month, Secretary Castro announced additional Continuum of Care program awards of $1.95 billion in grants to nearly 7,600 homeless assistance programs across the nation. As a result of these awards, Connecticut will receive an additional $44,583,760 for 148 projects statewide.
