In celebration of the Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) Month, HUD's Miami team joined efforts with NANAY Community Center and the Asian American Federation of Florida to conduct a Housing Opportunities workshop for the AAPI community in South Florida.

The event, held in May, included the participation of other federal and local partners such as the Small Business Administration (SBA), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Fair Housing Center HOPE Inc.

The combined presentations offered to about 40 members of the community useful information related to home ownership opportunities with help from FHA products and programs, home preservation services and Fair Housing rights. It also touched on topics of equal employment opportunities and how to obtain loans for small businesses.
