Leading housing counseling organizations from around Florida joined HUD Jacksonville's team for a statewide two-part conference in July and August to discuss strategies to avoid foreclosures and evictions.

In preparation for the expiration of the eviction moratorium, Jacksonville Legal Aid President and CEO Jim Kowalski, Florida Housing Counseling Network Executive Director Michele Hartson, Wealth Watchers President Carrie Davis, and Housing and Education Alliance Executive Director Sylvia Alvarez discussed collaborative efforts in sessions moderated by HUD Jacksonville Field Office Director Alesia Scott-Ford.

The community leaders shared best practices and resources available to increase awareness and protect consumers against scams, seek rental assistance and prevent foreclosure and evictions.
