Reisterstown Road Plaza, better known to Baltimoreans as The Plaza, is home to a new high-tech computerized information station built and maintained by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The kiosk provides general consumer information, current lists of HUD Homes for Sale, and information on homeless assistance.

The kiosk has been well used since its installation in August of 2003. In its first full month of operation more than 580 people used the kiosk, viewing over 11,000 pages of information. The kiosk should see even more use soon since the mall is undergoing a major renovation, and adding a major discount chain store and a major regional food market later this year.

More than 44,000 cars pass the mall on Reisterstown Road and over 22,000 cars travel Patterson Avenue, the other thoroughfare bordering the mall. Over 2,500 people a day visiting the Plaza during the week with nearly double the traffic on weekends.

Teresa Stovall, Operations Analyst with HUD's Baltimore Office manages the Kiosk and monitors its operation. With Ms. Stovall's watchful eye and the large volume of traffic at the mall, the Baltimore Field Office's Kiosk at the Plaza should continue to provide excellent information to the citizens of Baltimore.
