Pendleton Community Network Center Celebrating Neighborhood Networks Week 2009In 1995, HUD created the Neighborhood Network Centers (NNC) program as a community based initiative to promote self-sufficiency and deliver computer access to all residents living in HUD's federally insured and assisted properties. In 2000, HUD established Neighborhood Networks Week as a national observance to showcase the NNC's annual results, to highlight strengths, and to express appreciation to all those who were involved and contributed to their center's initiatives. Every day of Neighborhood Networks Week something new and exciting is celebrated with the residents and the community. This year the Pendleton Community Network Center in the Pendleton Square Apartments in Philadelphia, Mississippi celebrated with a poster contest, computer skills demonstrations, speakers and educators from the community, just to name a few. As you can see in the photos, it's all about learning while sharing and fellowshipping with other residents and the community.
