HUD NAMES JACQUELINE GIRARD AS MONTANA'S FIELD OFFICE DIRECTOR

DENVER - U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Regional Administrator Evelyn Lim announced the selection of Jackie Girard to serve as HUD State Director in Helena, Montana. Montana is one of the six states in HUD's Rocky Mountain Region which also includes Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah.

"I am confident that Ms. Girard's background and 21 years of experience serving the citizens of Montana will expand our ability to ensure safe, decent, and sanitary housing in our region," said HUD Rocky Mountain Regional Administrator Evelyn Lim. "We look forward to the great things she will do with housing and economic development partners across the state for the people of Montana. I am so pleased to welcome Jackie Girard to the HUD Region VIII family."

Girard will coordinate outreach activities and program delivery to HUD customers and communities throughout the state. She will also serve as a liaison to mayors, city managers, elected representatives, state and local officials, congressional delegations, stakeholders and customers, and will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of HUD programs and services to communities and organizations.

Previously Ms. Girard served as the State Director in Montana, Washington, and Alaska for the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). During her 21 years with CNCS, she lead the development and implementation of national service programming in the focus areas of Economic Development (includes affordable housing, financial education, and job training), Education, Access to Healthcare, and Veterans, to address critical needs and move people out of poverty.

Jackie also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member, and Project Supervisor; and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT.
