Newly remodeled Graver Inn

The historic Graver Inn, a former hotel located at 123 Roberts St. in Fargo, was recently rededicated after extensive remodeling. The wood frame structure with a brick exterior was built in 1916. Two years ago the Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority purchased the building and began a $3.7 million project that included acquisition and renovation. Federal Low Income Tax Credits, HOME funds from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and program funds from the Housing Authority helped pay for the renovation. The apartments and commercial space on the ground floor were re-modeled, a new elevator and new roof were installed, and the building's exterior and associated common areas were refurbished. The Graver Inn now includes 60 affordable apartments and 3 commercial tenants. Many of the apartments are occupied and nearly all of the tenants receive rental assistance using Housing Choice (Section 8) vouchers.

For more information on the historical aspect, please contact Lynn Fundingsland, Executive Director of the Fargo Housing & Redevelopment Authority, at (701) 293-6262 ext. 250.
