Big "Os" Community Spirit

Local HUD Office Volunteers Time to Make Home Repairs.

Seventeen staff, family members and mentees of the Omaha Field Office (OFO) participated in Rebuild Together 2015-Omaha on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Rebuild Together is a national non-profit with many local affiliates whose main function is to strengthen the lives of most vulnerable communities by providing low-income and permanently disabled homeowners with critical home repairs, accessibility modifications and energy-efficient upgrades.

This annual event marks a full day of home repair activities by designated teams of volunteers. The homeowners are chosen by Rebuild staff, and teams are designated typically by organization or work areas.

This year's OFO team was spearheaded by Charlie House and Greg Cecil, both of Community Planning and Development. Staff members from Public and Indian Housing, Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, Office of General Council, Office of the Chief Information Officer and Office of Field Policy and Management also participated.

OFO has established a long standing tradition of participating in this noteworthy community endeavor, and Rebuild 2015 saw one of OFO's largest turnouts. Big "O", You Rock!
