On Friday, April 1, HUD's Andrew Burgin-Anton and Connie Radcliff attended the annual Project Homeless Connect Omaha at Creighton University. Held in the Kiewit Fitness Center, over 480 homeless persons were greeted with smiles.

Project Homeless Connect is a one-day event connecting homeless individuals to services. With 45 service providers, Omaha's homeless had an opportunity to address many of their concerns in a single day.

Over 850 volunteers escorted guests around the facility to ensure every need was met. Multiple buses ran to and from shelters to assist Omaha's homeless with transportation to and from the event.  Doors were open to over 400 doctors, dentists, optometrists, podiatrists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, pharmacists, nurses, hair stylists and other healthcare providers offering free services.

Breakfast and lunch buffets were available for the duration of the day. HUD directly aided 30 people, providing housing counseling and helpful resources during the 7-hour event.
