On Thursday, November 10, 2016, Andrew Burgin-Anton and Earl Redrick of HUD Omaha Field Policy and Management attended the Omaha Veterans Stand Down at Grace University.

The annual stand down served 100 local veterans and offered over 50 exhibitors providing an array of services to homeless veterans. Services included haircuts, health screenings, eye and foot care, housing programs, job and workforce development programs and an array of other services available in the Omaha metro area.

There was also an abundance of clothing and shoes/boots for the winter, emergency care kits and other items the veterans could take with them.

The stand down is hosted by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), with other veteran-centric services agencies like Together Inc., Heartland Family Services, Salvation Army, Stephen Center, New Visions, and more.
