Seniors at Silver Vistas, a 171-unit age-restricted affordable housing development in Neptune, New Jersey, have been receiving needed support from staff and neighborhood partners during the COVID-19 pandemic. Better Tomorrows, a non-profit that provides support services, teamed up with local partners to make life a little easier for residents during these trying times.

Better Tomorrow's Kaye Camille worked with Monique Credle of The Beacon Senior Living; Imperial Health Care Senior Rehab Center's Anne Pagnoni; and King Manor's Tia Gutterman, as well as the Monmouth Food Bank and Jersey Shore Dream Center, to provide drop-off Lunches, emergency food pantry items, gift card donations, goodie bag drop-offs, and even a door-to-door "ice cream truck". These initiatives brought comfort and smiles to the residents.

While many residents enjoyed receiving these treats, others decided to join in to support others by giving back.

Better Tomorrows had a team of resident and area volunteers partner with food pantry From Jersey With Love, to distribute lunches and pantry items to residents who signed up expressing a need for food support. Volunteer residents took the initiative during COVID-19 to do this on their own, along with volunteering to support ongoing programs through Better Tomorrows.

This team of volunteers continues to provide food support to their fellow residents on Tuesdays & Thursdays and they accept all those in need. The bond among Silver Vistas' residents, Better Tomorrows staff, neighbors and area volunteers continues to grow as they support each other during these stressful times.
