The Town Hall meeting sought to examine how HUD could more effectively address fair housing issues, job creation and community development needs of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the New York City area. Over 100 people participated in the meeting with a lively exchange of questions and answers following Mr. Trasviña's remarks. The Town Hall meeting also included the participation of Mr. Chris Kui, Executive Director of Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE); Ms. Dawn Tsien, Chapter President of the Asian Real Estate Professionals Association of America (AREAA); Fred Underwood, Director of Diversity and Outreach for the National Association of Realtors (NAR); and, Jay Golden, Regional Director, HUD's New York Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity.
