NY Regional Office Hosts Local CPD Grantees
Local CPD representative, Christopher Dwyer, discusses the importance of the One CPD Technical Assistance Program |
On August 23rd, over 200 people representing HUD partners from the public and private sectors filled the Conference Center at 26 Federal Plaza to listen to HUD staff discuss on the future of many of its programs. The All Grantee Meeting represented organizations that were recipients of HUD formula grants for housing and community developments as well as recipients who receive HUD competitive grants to help the homeless. The capacity crowd heard presentations on the One CPD Technical Assistance Program, an update on programs from New York State officials, and an overview of the Hearth Act. The proceedings began with a video greeting from Assistant Secretary Mercedes Marquez along with greetings from Regional Administrator Adolfo Carrión and New York CPD Director Vincent Hom. Unfortunately, the earthquake that hit the east coast interrupted the meeting so that much of the afternoon program had to be cancelled. It will be re-scheduled for a later date.
