Regional Administrator Leicht Tours Sandy-Impacted Area of Staten Island
Regional Administrator Holly Leicht visited Staten Island to tour Sandy-impacted Midland Beach with Staten Island Borough President James Oddo. The area had been devastated by Hurricane Sandy at the end of October 2012. Among the topics that were discussed were redevelopment strategies to get businesses and residential properties back on line as quickly as possible, and long-term recovery efforts to make the borough's coastal areas more resilient. Ms. Leicht said that she was impressed with the Borough President's immediate and long-term vision, and that she looked forward to working with him in the future. Prior to the tour, Ms. Leicht had the opportunity to meet Councilwoman Debi Rose and discuss issues of concern in her district.
