Regional Administrator Lynne Patton met for the first time with public housing residents at the 50th Anniversary Commemorating the Williams Plaza Tenants Association in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The event was also attended by New York City Public Advocate Letitia James, Captain Dan Dooley of the New York Police Department, and representatives from the offices of Rep. Nydia Valesquez and Comptroller Scott Stringer. Regional Administrator Patton delivered remarks to the assembled tenants about her commitment to keeping NYCHA developments as public assets while also leveraging the private capital necessary to meet their enormous capital needs. She spoke of the importance of well-organized tenants associations in building community and holding leadership accountable, and thanked the newly elected Tenants Association President Joel Gross for the opportunity to attend the event and meet NYCHA residents face-to-face.
