HUD New York Regional Office Senior Management Analyst Earleene Sealy hosted "Understanding Public Housing Programs," a webinar that outlined HUD rental subsidies and programs that foster resident wellbeing and self-sufficiency.

HUD Office of Public and Indian Housing Senior Portfolio Management Specialist Steve Savarese, and Portfolio Management Specialist, Mandy Clarke provided information on multiple HUD programs that can assist low-income families.

Webinar topics included: how to apply for Housing Choice Vouchers, commonly known as Section 8; HUD's Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program, which assists veterans with housing and services; HUD's Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS), which helps HUD-assisted families increase their income; and HUD's Resident Opportunities and Self Sufficiency Program (ROSS), that features a housing coordinator that links residents with job training, placement, and local employers.

HUD New York Regional Office Executive Assistant Angelique Urbina moderated the Q&A portion of the webinar, held on Microsoft Teams. The virtual event was geared toward renters, non-profits, and faith-based organizations and fostered attendee engagement, urging them to ask questions about HUD housing programs and resources.
