TRAINING ON NEW HOUSING RULES

HUD HOSTS LGBT FAIR HOUSING SUMMIT
HUD Fair Housing Assistant Secretary John Trasviña, NYC Housing Authority Board Member Margarita Lopez to be featured speakers

NEW YORK - The U.S. Housing and Urban Development's Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Office is hosting an all-day training on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for employees, stakeholders, non-profits, housing authority personnel, attorneys and others on new housing rules affecting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community. The training will highlight new rules that went into effect on March 5, 2012 and clearly outline eligibility and protections regarding housing for the LGBT community. Topics to be discussed include: Fair Housing and HUD's new LGBT (Equal Access) Rule; Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH); Community Planning & Development; Public Housing; Homelessness, and more.
