In a recent press event, the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership (LCCAP) was greatly pleased to announce the renewal of the County of Lawrence's Pennsylvania Regional Lead Hazard Control Grant. This grant has been awarded to LCCAP by the HUD Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control (OHHLHC). As the primary lead program administrator in Lawrence County for the past four years, LCCAP using program resources to ensure healthy, lead free homes for families with children age 6 and below.

On hand for the event were a number of HUD and LCCAP representatives. Representing the HUD Pittsburgh Field Office were Cheryle Campbell and Cynthia Haines. Ed Thomas, Region III HUD OHHLHC representative, was also in attendance for the awards ceremony and announcement.

Beyond lead control programs, HUD and LCCAP partner in many other arenas. Currently, LCCAP works as the designated housing counseling agency for Lawrence County, provides homeless assistance programs and works in neighborhood stabilization programs. HUD is a vital funding partner for each of these ventures. Our HUD Pittsburgh representatives jumped at the opportunity to attend the event and promote an agency that does so much to serve the people of Lawrence County.
