A family of four is enjoying their new home in Levittown, Pennsylvania, thanks to Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County and HUD's HOME program.

HUD Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Joe DeFelice gave remarks at Habitat's dedication on May 30, 2018, for the 112th property built through its homeownership program. While congratulating the new homeowners, he touched on the important role public-private partnerships play in community development.

Florence Kawoczka, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, expressed her gratitude for HUD's support. Habitat has received $3.9 million through HUD's HOME and Housing Trust Fund programs over the years.

"I look forward to giving you a grand tour of what we have built and rehabbed in the county at your convenience," Kawoczka said to DeFelice. "We could not have done it without HUD."

This is the second Habitat for Humanity event DeFelice has attended this month, coming on the heels of its state conference held May 16, 2018, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where DeFelice gave a speech on restoring the American dream of homeownership.
