Elderly residents in need for affordable housing in San Juan will soon have a new option: View Point at Domenech. The 10-story development consists of 120 units for persons with low and/or moderate income. It will feature a community room, gym, gardens, and laundry. Social workers will be available to help them with their needs. Its location next to the train and to a community college will provide the residents with mass transportation and educational opportunities.

View Point at Domenech is the result of an interagency collaboration. The financing includes $5 million in HOME funds, as well as $18.5 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits administered by the Puerto Rico Housing Finance Authority. It will also benefit from rental subsidy from the Puerto Rico Department of Housing under their "Ley 173" a program geared to people 60 years of age and over.
