US Virgin Islands basketball league: Let's Shoot Hoops!

The Virgin Islands Housing Authority (VIHA) recently presented its "Free Your Mind Basketball League". The purpose of this league is to provide a positive alternative at risk young males, ages 15-21, who reside in public housing developments in the Territory of the US Virgin Islands.

A major focus of the league, comprised by 16 teams, is fostering sportsmanship, team building, and constructive activity. VIHA is anticipating to replicate the program in the St. Croix District in the future.

Both, the Department of Education and the Police Department have helped to make this basketball league a reality. Kudos to all of them!
