HUD Supports Lenoir, Tennessee DevelopmentFHA program helps economically stimulate local community and provide more housing optionsLocal leaders from the Lenoir, Tennessee (www.lenoircitygov.com/) community participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 18 unlike what is normally associated with housing development dedications. The ceremony was for the dedication of an upscale apartment complex which was pleasantly surprising for those in attendance to learn that FHA insures unsubsidized market rate apartment homes, as well as those for low income persons.
Suzanne Wright (HUD Field Policy Management Knoxville), Howard Roberts and Kerry Salvas (HUD Multifamily Knoxville) attended the ceremony at the FHA insured The Cove at Creekwood Park, and were impressed by the complex, featuring such amenities as a wonderful swimming pool and fitness and computer centers. The complex was constructed by TDK Development and is being managed by Mitchell Management, Inc. Channel 10 Knoxville was present along with many interested residential applicants, the Loudon Chamber of Commerce and Loudon County and Lenoir City Officials. Many attractive features were incorporated into the design of this FHA 221 (d) (4) insured project. The gated community at the Cove at Creekwood Park has 208 units featuring 1, 2, and 3 bedroom designs. Features include keyless entry system, ceiling fans, balconies/sunrooms, washers and dryers in each unit, full fitness center, community area with TV and media room, outdoor cooking station, cybercafé, outside walking greenway trails, accessible playground/tot lot, and a swimming pool. ### |
