In recognition of Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) May 3 - 9, 2015, which gives honor to the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county, and local government employees, the Nashville HUD Field Office held an all employees event on May 7, 2015, to publicly recognize the contributions of many of its employees.

Additionally, each staff member received a copy of the Presidential Proclamation which was also read and distributed to staff attending the event to acknowledge their contributions.

"Each of our employees are honored to serve those in need each and every day and it is only fitting that this week their efforts should be official recognized," said Sernorma L. Mitchell, Nashville, HUD Field Office Director.

Celebrated the first week of May since 1985, Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) is organized annually by the Public Employees Roundtable (PER) (http://publicservicerecognitionweek.org/contact/index.shtml) and its member organizations to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees.

The theme for PSRW 2015 is Government Works. Public servants do amazing things across our great nation, around the world, and in your hometown and community. Through PSRW, we showcase their accomplishments and recognize the significant challenges they take on each and every day. We hope you'll join us in telling these stories of how government works for the American people and about the types of work it does.
