Ogden City's Fair Housing Committee
Commits to Reaching over 5,000 Residents!

A comprehensive outreach program has been developed by the Ogden City Fair Housing Committee and staff to directly reach over 5,000 inner-city residents by October 2004. The all-volunteer committee and City staff will participate in a total of 25 events between March 20 and October 9, 2004 including 11 Saturdays at Ogden's Historic 25th Street Farmers and Art Market, beginning in July. Other events include a variety of school family nights, Cinco de Mayo, the "Taste of Ogden" Multicultural Festival, Juneteenth, the National Night Out Against Crime and the Children's Health Connection. Attendance at these events will range from 200 to over 4,000 residents.

A bright and engaging tabletop display was created, in both Spanish and English, to highlight the most critical issues facing those seeking rental or homeownership opportunities. It includes a 10 question "quiz" to test resident's knowledge and to engage them in discussions with volunteers and staff about Fair Housing issues.

If you have questions regarding Fair Housing or want more information on how to file a Fair Housing discrimination complaint, please call the Utah Antidiscrimination and Labor Division at: 1-800-222-1238 or (801) 530-6801.
