Are those school bells we hear? Seeking a profound impact on students and their learning experience, the HUD Richmond Field Office spearheaded a school supplies campaign for Robert E. Lee Elementary School in Petersburg, VA. Under the direction of a new leadership team of Principal Sheryl Doswell and Assistant Principal Courtney Ward, Robert E. Lee Elementary School is attended by low-income students in the most distressed city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The donated supplies will benefit both students and teachers by providing them with the proper tools they need to succeed together in the classroom.

HUD Richmond Field Office employees generously donated six boxes of school supplies including binders, headphones, flash cards, crayons and pencils, plus three backpacks stuffed with supplies for needy 3rd and 5th graders. The students and teachers of Lee Elementary School will "ring" in their new school year on September 5.
