HUD ANNOUNCES WYOMING FIELD OFFICE DIRECTOR TO TRANSFER TO NEW ORLEANS

DENVER - U.S. Housing and Urban Development Regional Administrator Rick Garcia today announced that Danberry Carmon, Wyoming Field Office Director will transfer to New Orleans as the Field Office Director.

"I thank Dan for championing Wyoming housing and community development issues. We appreciate his accomplishments towards building a stronger relationship with the state's affordable housing community, cities, towns and citizens," Regional Administrator Rick Garcia said. "This reassignment will support HUD efforts to both effectively accomplish the Department's mission and fully utilize Dan's skills and abilities."

Mr. Carmon was appointed Field Office Director for the Casper, Wyo., office December 2008. He joined HUD in 2004. Previously, he lived in New Orleans for nearly 20 years and worked with local, state and federal housing agencies and communities in Louisiana as well as the New Orleans Field Office.

"I'll miss the fine people and living in beautiful Wyoming," said Carmon. "Duty calls. I look forward to implementing the Secretary's goals of strengthening and promoting livable, sustainable communities in New Orleans and Louisiana."

Carmon reports to New Orleans August 2, 2010. Regional Administrator Garcia will proactively pursue filling the position to ensure a seamless, as possible, transition and the continuity of HUD services to the state of Wyoming's population.
