The Los Angeles, California area Continuum of Care covers thirty jurisdictions in the City and County of Los Angles. Areas covered include Baldwin Park, Carson, Cerritos, Compton, Gardena, Huntington Park, Inglewood, Paramount City, and Santa Monica. Over 275 homeless people, nonprofit homeless assistance providers, business representatives and government officials were involved in the development of the Continuum of Care which was guide by the Los Angles Homeless Service Authority (LAHSA). Key elements of the Continuum of Care are: (1) establish/coordinate an effective regional delivery system; (2) promote the development of and access to permanent affordable housing; (3) develop a resource allocation plan for Los Angeles County; and (4) provide a vehicle for education, advocacy and public policy.
