The Paterson, New Jersey, metro area Continuum of Care covers the Cities of Paterson, Passaic, and Clifton and Passaic Counties. Over 50 homeless providers, local housing agency representatives, bankers, developers, homeless and formerly homeless people were involved in the development of the Continuum of Care which was guided by Comprehensive Emergency Assistance System Committee and the Paterson Coalition for Housing. Key elements of the Continuum of Care are: (1) increase outreach efforts, (2) improve coordination of services to minimize duplication, (3) maximize data collection efforts to enable pinpointing the key needs among the homeless population, (4) strengthen services targeted to special needs populations, and (5) build the permanent housing stock.
