The State of Ohio Continuum of Care covers more than 50 counties, most located outside Ohio's major population centers. Over 100 homeless service providers, local businesses, banks, foundations, housing developers, local governments, neighborhood and community organizations, State government, and veteran service organizations were involved in the development of the Continuum of Care which was guided by the Ohio Department of Development Community Shelter Board. Key elements of the Continuum of Care are: (1) develop coordinated systems for outreach to homeless individuals, veterans, and families; (2) increased commitment to prevent homelessness; and (3) plans to increase a broad range of supportive services such as case management, crisis intervention, child care, job training and placement, health care, substance abuse treatment, legal services, life skills, and housing placement.
