The Richmond, Virginia, metro area Continuum of Care covers the City of Richmond and the Counties of Chesterfield and Henrico. Over 50 homeless people, non-profit homelessness assistance providers, business representatives, and government officials were involved in the development of the Continuum of Care which was guided by the Richmond Regional Homelessness Task Force. Key elements of the Continuum of Care are: (1) plans for improving coordination and deliver of services through development of a data collection and analysis system, (2) increased commitment to homelessness prevention, and (3) service delivery system enhancements such as central intake, more holistic case management, and on-going supports which may have an immediate positive impact on homeless persons.
