The Arlington County, Virginia, Continuum of Care includes all the County. Over 20 Federal, County, private non-profit, and grass-roots volunteer organizations and private citizens were involved in the development of the Continuum of Care which was guided by the Shelter Coordination Committee. Key elements of the Continuum of Care are: (1) to develop and implement a coordinate self-sufficiency system for persons who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness; (2) to collect, analyze, and distribute demographic and outcome information regarding homeless persons; (3) to collaborate with the wider community (both public and private) in support of the Arlington Homeless Strategy; and (4) to advocate within the community for available and affordable housing.
