St. Bernard

Fore!Kids Foundation is a New Orleans based non-profit group that was established in 1958. It has partnered with Columbia Residential, a minority-owned, Atlanta-based mixed income housing developer and manager that has worked with other housing authorities in Georgia and Texas to complete hundreds of affordable housing units on various HUD HOPE VI and mixed-finance projects. The team also includes the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, a non-profit organization that bring commercial development experience to the project. Together, the team has proposed a conceptual plan for the revitalization of the St. Bernard site that includes affordable rental and for-sale housing units, education, and recreation.

C.J. Peete

Central City Partners (CCP), is a joint venture made up of the Peete Redevelopment, LLC between McCormack Baron Salazar and KAI Design and Build, who have teamed with the New Orleans Neighborhood Development Collaborative to develop a plan for the redevelopment of the C.J. Peete site, located in the heart of New Orleans' Central City neighborhood. McCormack Baron is a leading national real estate developer with extensive experience in the creation and management of large-scale mixed-income communities. KAI, a minority-owned firm, has a broad range of experience in design, construction and development services, and has worked on multiple mixed-finance/HUD HOPE VI development programs around the country, including one in New Orleans. In partnership with the New Orleans Neighborhood Development Collaborative, a New Orleans' based non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the availability of quality affordable housing in the Central City neighborhood. The team proposes to reconnect public housing and public housing residents to the larger Central City neighborhood. In addition to housing, the plan also includes the redevelopment of two neighborhood schools, as well as a community building to house supportive services programs, including a business center.

B.W. Cooper

KBK Enterprises is a leading minority owned development firm that has illustrated its commitment to the comprehensive revitalization of public housing by partnering with the B.W. Cooper Resident Management Corporation, to create revitalization plan for the B.W. Cooper housing development. KBK Enterprises has been engaged on similar projects in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. It has extensive experience in what it has termed their "beyond bricks and sticks" development approach; an approach that has earned them national recognition. Unlike the other large housing sites included in HANO's immediate revitalization plans, the B.W. Cooper site remains home to approximately 300 families, which makes this team the best fit for this site given their particular sensitivity to resident issues. Working with the existing Resident Management Corporation already onsite, the KBK team will work to facilitate a smooth transition for the site's current residents, and will ensure a broad range of supportive services for all who return to the site.
