Brief Description
The Agency brought a network of public and private entities together to plan for the future information infrastructure needs of Harris County, Texas. The Harris County Information Systems Strategic Alliance was created to find efficiencies in local public and private organizations' efforts to serve the public. The list of members currently includes fifteen government agencies, fourteen education institutions, numerous libraries, and a variety of healthcare providers. Other partners include several related networks as well as eight telecommunications companies. This groups has undertaken a three-phase planning process and is currently completing Phase II in which each partner is identifying user needs.
