The South Carolina State HUD Office sponsored another American Red Cross Blood Drive earlier this month - as they have for the last 25 plus years. Blood collections are vital to the local community because the need for blood never stops, and the South Carolina Office does its part by sponsoring four or five blood drives every year.

The best way to maintain a consistent supply of healthy blood is through repeat donors. All federal employees and visitors to the Strom Thurmond Federal Building are encouraged to donate blood during the HUD office drive.

Some South Carolina office employees have given as much as 10 gallons of blood over the years, and they continue to donate blood several times a year at the drives. Belle Thomas, Multifamily program assistant coordinates the HUD-sponsored blood drives with the American Red Cross.
